Merry Christmas 2010

Dreaming of a White Christmas: Christmas was spent in Rice Lake, snow country. Mom made me the best Christmas present ever. With help from Sharon, and aunt Loraine she made me a quilt of all my favorite old Tee shirts.

Three, Two, One: Burt, Lynda, Catlyn, and Cienna spent New Year’s with me in Vegas. They were on their way back from Dan and Kim’s cabin in Duck Creek.

Packers vs. Cardinals: Brother Burt, Cousin Pat and I attending the NFC championship game where the Packers lost to the Cardinals in a back and forth emotional roller coaster. Walked to the stadium from Burt’s house

Moving On: The Gianninis Visited Vegas and graced me with a broken down dilapidated gas grill. I was faced with a moral dilemma of no small proportion. Barbra informed me, rather sarcastically, that I could not throw it out because it was a “TREASURE”. So I rewired it Arr Arr.

Hog Heaven: I had my not so annual Memorial Day “Pig Roast”. Yes the engineers refused to read the instructions clearly written on the roaster and poorly re-engineered the roasting process. It was great when it finally got done.

30th Class Reunion: As you can imagine all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average. Once again Mike Bassette serenaded us at the bonfire. www.rlhs80.com

Whale of a Time: Uncle Hubert, Eric Farrar, Scott Visger and I went to fishing in Alaska with our good friend Paul Vick at Lutra Lake. I got to hang with my god son Connor of the Carl & Lynn Brandt’s in Seattle as usual. I got to catch up with college roommate and Kieth and Ellen Drummond. We had fish fry and played some real Guitar before playing Guitar Hero. Fish, Eagles, Glaciers, Bears and Beers with good friends. Pictures @ www.mylazydog.com

Bucky vs. Heyreb: My good friend Mark Alden invited Burt, Pat, Dan, Evelyn, Robert, and I to watch the football game between the Badgers and the Rebels, from the presidents box no less. Burt actually got to see Barry Alverez on the elevator. I am a graduate from both schools so it was a win/win for me. The Ivanaskas boys John and Fran were in town for the game, unfortunately we didn’t get together as much as I would have liked. Next year.

Take this Job and Shove it: Yes I got to say this to a company that so rightly deserved to hear it, as I took a different job. I still miss working for myself. (Someday) I have very little vacation but at least I have my sanity. Well my version of sanity.

Rwandan- Aussie Connection: Even though I missed their wedding in Rwanda Marcus and Angela visited me in Vegas. Thanks Marcus for retrieving me after I got rear ended on the motorcycle. Now I am the other type of motorcycle rider.

Deer Hunting not ELK!: I only had 3 days to hunt because I was taking vacation in 3 weeks to Elk hunt the same area. Lot of deer no horns, but Elk! I was smitten by a massive Bull Elk that I planned to see in 3 weeks. I was solo because my hunting partner Jeff Kolstad was fighting for his life. I am glad to report he is back to being his cantankerous old self.

Elk Hunting not DEER!: After applying for 15 years I finally got a Bull Elk tag. And I knew right where he was. (Was!). While sleeping in a tent under snow for a week, I didn’t see a stinking Elk, but Bucks!? Oh Yeah I was bucks and “Bee Eye Gee” BIG bucks and lots of them. Elk while Deer hunting, Deer while Elk hunting. Timing is everything

Turduken and Football in the AZ: Dan, Kim, Olivia, Sammy and I went to Burt & Linda’s for Thanksgiving. Damn that Barka Lounger rocked for some Power Lounging.

The Sputum Bowl: College friends Chris and Heather Becker came to town for the respiratory therapy conference. We managed to get them to a show Le Rev and I believe we also saw Frank Caliendo. Hiked Sloan Canyon, and yes they have competition at the conference called the Sputum Bowl.
