Merry Christmas

I spent New Years with a
good friend Dave
Banks in Huntington Beach CA. He played at the Whisky a Go Go prior to the ball dropping. We also did some dirt
bike riding and gave Uneasy Listening a run for their
money.
The malls are doing well despite a Van crashing into Harvard Square. We have all but one unit rented and a night club is
on the verge of opening or closing??
Dan moved into his new house in February I think. For
those of you who do not have his new address it is.

The month of March I helped sail the Stormy Duchess across
the Atlantic Europe. I joined my old ship mates Captain Wayne Spangler,
and Kevin McClone in the Canary
Islands Portugal off the coast of Africa, and sailed Stormy to Tortolla British Virgin Islands. (AKA paradise). I have to thank Wayne and Kevin for a second
chance at a life time opportunity. It was awesome. You can read all about the
trip and view more photos on the web site at http://www.stormyduchess.com
Scott Visger hosted another
successful Wisconsin fishing opener. This time I brought my Las Vegas hunting partner Jeff Kolstad. We had a lot of success
except for the rough beginning as I managed to cross an ocean with my new
digital camera, but didn’t quite make it from dock to bass boat
successfully. This is becoming an annual
event and I hope it stays that way.

Bob Potts lead us on
another great hike to the top of Bridge Mountain in April. I also went on his Kayak of the Black Canyon again. Thank you for setting these hikes up we do appreciate them.
I also did a Back Pack
overnight on Mt. Charleston with Clint Woods and his daughter Leah. They made it I
got altitude sickness and came down the next morning. That is the second time that
Charleston has beaten me.
Memorial day Mike Fennoci and
I had the first of what promises to be an annual event Pig Roast. Brother Burt
and family came up for that. There are a couple of good stories to tell about
the acquiring and roasting of a fine piece of pork.

Paul Vic was gracious enough to have Tim Hovde, Dave
Doty and myself back at Uganik/Kodiak
Alaska for some salmon and halibut fishing. There is now way
to fully thank Paul for his hospitality. The fishing, the views, the cooking,
and the company are beyond words. You have to go. The rain took out the second
digital camera of the year, so pictures are limited and hopefully I will have
them posted on http://www.charrons.com
soon.
P.S. Dave and I chartered a
boat out of Kodiak where he landed a 55lb Ling Cod! Ugly
Sucker.
The Badgers were at UNLV
for the football season opener. Mike Borchadt, Chris Becker his brother and bride
to be came to Las
Vegas for
the game. The line was rebels by three and they were spanked. Both teams were
doing so poorly that the lights went out. With a good portion of time left in
the fourth. The game was called but the bets were not paid. No real explanation
why the Sam Boyd stadium was the only building with out power? This did not stop the fifth quarter. It was
played in the dark.
Also in this year I
1)
I helped
Jeff Kolstad Bag his first ELK.
2)
Sarah
Votruba came for a visit and went on (Dave’s White Trash Tours). Witch included a trip to the Liberace Museum, Elvis-O-Rama and a Bum
sweep at the mall.
3)
Jane
Votruba came for Comdex and treated Dam Kim and I to the show “O”. A must see
from the 8th row.
4)
Burt , Linda, Herman
and I did a 50 mile bike ride in a beautiful authentic Dutch village, Solvang CA.
5)
We
over-hauled the Atomic four engine on our sail boat/board
room, and now we conduct business in luxury. Linda Charron re upholstered our interior
and it looks marvelous.
6)
I went back
to Madison to see the Badgers beat the Gophers on the last game
of the year. I caught up with Mike Borchardt, Chris Becker, and his family, Heather
Tietz, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Pinkerton, Mark and Joan
Radue, Matt and Pat Lensmier and all their children who are all above average.
7)
While in Madison I caught up with Patrick and Sue Votruba and the new
edition. Powerful cute she is too.
8)
Somewhere
in there Marcus Jubber a friend from Sydney came for a visit. We will se him in February 2003.
9)
I just got
back from a lazy visit to San Jose where I stayed with Carl, Lynn, and visited with Lisa Brandt, and her significant
Jason. I had plans of watching the Packers vs the San
Fran but it was sold out last year. I barley survived the flight home.
10)
I managed
to get my motor cycle back into one piece. Thank god that project is over.
11)
I also have
painted most of my house. All the friends hate the color but are kind enough to
tell me it looks great.
Hotel Charron has cheap
rates and wonderful concierges. I hope to see you all soon. Seemed like a lot of events rotated around
College and Pro football? Well maybe wwe will see you
in San Diego?
